Let’s Explore Some Commonly Asked Questions About The Foodservice Franchise Program That Is Kelly’s Roast Beef:
What experience do I need to become a Kelly’s Roast Beef franchise owner?
Kelly’s Roast Beef is a concept that has stood the test of time for a reason. It’s easy to operate. We are looking for individuals experienced in running a restaurant, or investors with those kinds of business partners. If you are financially qualified and want to learn what our concept is all about, we want an opportunity to talk with you. We’ve got the recipes and the experience, now we want new people in our network.
What is provided as part of the Kelly’s Roast Beef franchise program?
The franchise owner will be required to attend and complete training at the corporate headquarters at least 12 weeks before the opening of their restaurant. The franchise unit’s management team will attend a minimum of eight (8) weeks training. Members of the Kelly’s Roast Beef franchise team will visit the new owner at their location to review overall operations. Our HQ team will assist with site selection and through the buildout process. All new owners will receive a proprietary, confidential operations manual to assist with day to day activity, with everything included for front of house and back of house operations. Consistent, ongoing training will be available remotely at all times, and onsite periodically or as needed.
How much will the Kelly’s Roast Beef franchise program cost me?
The total investment necessary to begin operations ranges from $750,000 to $1,900,000 for a single location (not including real estate costs), including an initial franchise fee of $40,000. As with any new venture, it’s important to have adequate capital to fund the initial business growth stages.
Is financing available?
We do not provide direct financing to franchise owners, but we may refer to financing sources on a case by case basis.
Are there ongoing fees to pay?
For the first ten (10) units, we charge a Royalty Fee that will be 3% of Gross Sales during the first year of operation, 4% of Gross Sales in the second year of operations and 5% of Gross Sales thereafter. Collected fees allow us to fund our ongoing support services and the continued development of product, recipe and supply channels, marketing tools, training programs, and systems upgrades. For a full list of fees and requirements, please refer to our Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD).
Are there any advertising fees?
Kelly’s Roast Beef franchise owners will spend at least 1% of net sales on local marketing and promotions in their territory. (While we have the right to create a System Marketing Fund, with an expected contribution of 2% of gross revenue, we currently do not have a systemwide fund in place. Any funds collected in the future would be used to develop marketing strategies to promote the Kelly’s Roast Beef brand.) For a full list of fees and requirements, please refer to our Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD).
What is the term of the agreement?
The initial term of the agreement is 20 years with one subsequent successor agreement option of ten (10) years.
